Availability and Utilization of Instructional Materials in Nursing Training Institutions in Anambra State

This descriptive survey research assessed the availability and utilization of instructional materials in nursing training institutions Anambra State. A sample size 298 students 50 teachers were randomly selected from four Nursing schools Self-structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Inferential statistics applied testing null hypotheses at 0.05 level significant. Results revealed that student nurses Teachers believed materials- Audio/Visual equipment (59.7% students, 64.0% teachers); Power point presentation (74.7% 58.0% Anatomical Models (98.0% Students, 80.2% Teachers); Medical Instruments (99.7% 96.0% Good demonstration rooms (95.7% students,86.0% teachers) available 73.6% Students 74.0% indicated these often utilized by Tutors. Private/mission owned make more (80.2% 54.0% utilize (82.8% 62.0% than government schools. Significance difference (P <0.05) exists between university-based hospital-based as well private/mission-owned government-owned There is positive relationship (Rho= 0.603, P <0.000) training. The study concluded adequately Tutors researchers recommended incentives should be given to Nurse Educators who other encourage them.
